Interface with low-level software and provide data to processing pipelines. An ideal candidate is a motivated individual who independently follows up on bugs, collaborates with developers to resolve issues and can understand and discuss technical problems with other QE engineers, development partners and program managers.ResponsibilitiesPartnering with a development team to quickly learn a new application, break it into functional parts, and identify potential weaknessesUnderstanding the context where an application will be deployed, providing insights to potential failuresAuthoring detailed test plans that cover all E2E functionality and edge cases of a systemDeveloping robust and repeatable automated testing solutionsExecuting manual and automated test plans on a variety of hardware and software configurationsDeveloping quality from an early stage by being involved through the entire project lifecycleDocumentation of test cases and code used for test executionTracking test performance, reporting results to management, driving issues to closureCollaborating with multi-functional teams, guaranteeing complete test coverage and a seamless end user experienceDeveloping creative new tools, fixtures, and methodologies to stress software featuresMinimum QualificationsBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experienceExperience programming in Python and one other object-oriented programming language (Objective C, Swift, Java)Experience in testing & debugging UI frameworksSkilled in bug hunting and identifying regressionsFamiliarity with continuous integration and scheduling systemsFamiliarity with cloud services and data processingPreferred QualificationsMS or PhD in SW/CS/EE or related degreesKnowledge of Mac systems and MacOS/iOS or UNIX variantTrack record of shipping great consumer productsPrevious experience with software measurement tools to analyze performance and memory usageAbility to thrive in uncertain, rapid project schedules, being able to quickly shift priorities and maximize testing timeStrives to innovate and try new things, incorporating continuous improvement of testing methodsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
