Job Title: Development Manager

Location: Miami, FL (Remote with travel to office 3 days every 3-4 weeks)

Position Type: 9-Month Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $60-74/hr

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an organized, process-driven Development Manager to lead and support a remote team of six software developers. This role focuses on execution, team management, sprint delivery, operational alignment, and cross-functional coordination for a pharmacy SaaS platform. The Development Manager will help translate leadership priorities into actionable work, support developer productivity, manage escalations, and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate leadership priorities into sprint plans, assign deliverables, and maintain balanced workloads across a team of six developers.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, workload distribution, and task tracking.
• Recruit, onboard, and train new engineering team members.
• Establish clear expectations and support alignment within a fully remote team.
• Partner with Customer Support teams to triage, prioritize, and assign software bugs and technical issues.
• Research, evaluate, and implement tools and platforms that improve team productivity and communication.
• Support development best practices through code reviews, sprint cadence management, and process documentation.
• Lead operational and technical initiatives, including tooling evaluations, tracking systems, knowledge base assessments, and enterprise-readiness projects.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or coordinating remote software development teams.
• Experience with sprint planning, backlog grooming, task management, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience using tools such as Jira, GitHub, or similar project management platforms.
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams.
• Experience improving operational processes, workflows, documentation, or internal tools.
• Prior hands-on software development experience with a focus on delivery management, team facilitation, and operational execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical certifications.
• Experience supporting software delivery within SaaS environments.

Compensation

$60-74/hr
