The Core Infrastructure team is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the platform that powers Snap’s critical Storage & Caching Infrastructure. We build and operate the platform that provisions, scales, rightsizes, and manages the lifecycle of storage and caching systems serving Snap’s most critical workloads

Manage and mentor a team of backend and full-stack developers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
Build infrastructure for data processing at Snap with large scale distributed systems
Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

1+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
Experience building large scale distributed systems
8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 3+ years of post-grad software development experience
Experience with big data processing and pipelines
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
Familiarity with the driving large scale initiatives from ideation to completion
Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Trino, BigQuery, and Spark
