You will be joining a diverse group of individuals who have an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for challenging the status quo.Position OverviewAs a Software Engineer your primary responsibility is to create software solutions for Impossible Objects' products and internal systems. You will be responsible for working with the engineering team to help maintain, design, develop and test software applications and database-driven information systems.Technical prowess, teamwork and strong communications are key components for long-term growth and success.
This is a position where you will be challenged to create new processes and improve upon existing ones in order to shape our product direction and advance a technology that is disrupting the manufacturing industry.ResponsibilitiesLead requirements meetings for software design projectsDevelop product and subsystem design and performance specifications based on product requirementsComplete all phases of software design projectsIdentify issues, make recommendations, and carry out changes for resolving complex problemsMake modifications to or upgrade existing software productsDevelop and test software on prototypes, subsystems, and end productPrepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsEnhance and improve existing technologies to apply to new solutionsMake recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve product qualityExercise sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsProvide complete end to end documentation for product design and engineering change ordersEdit user documentation in regards to operating systemDocument, execute, and report on test plans to ensure software solutions are robust and meet all requirementsReview software test results and bug reports, performs root cause analysis. Resolve highly complex technical issuesDevelop positive relationships with other company functions involved in the design, test, and implementation processesWork effectively with cross functional team in the development of new products and resolving issuesMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societiesRequirementsBachelor or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field5+ years related experience in software design, development and testingProficient in PythonProficient in Windows-based office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointExperience using modern software development methodologies and tools, such as version control, test frameworks and issue trackersAbility to prototype and test designsAbility to focus on detail while prioritizing multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to apply an analytic, data driven approach to engineering workExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPossesses dependability, integrity and the ability to work independently or on a multidisciplinary teamAdditional Preferred SkillsExperience with 2D/3D computer graphics, image processing, and linear algebraExperience developing and debugging embedded software for control of mechatronicsExperience with 3D printing software and processesProficient in SQL and NoSQL databasesProgramming skills in C, OpenCV, Flask and Qt
