Senior Elasticsearch / ELK AdministratorLocation: Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Duration: 12 months Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $76/hr W2Job Description: Seeking a Senior Elasticsearch/ELK Administrator with 7+ years of hands-on experience managing and scaling Elastic Stack environments.
The role involves designing, building, optimizing, and supporting large-scale Elasticsearch clusters for logging and monitoring use cases, with strong expertise in cluster architecture, automation, upgrades, and performance tuning.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, scale, and optimize Elasticsearch clusters, including Hot–Warm–Cold architectures.Manage index lifecycle policies (ILM), snapshots, and searchable snapshots.Automate deployments and operations using Ansible and shell scripting.Plan and execute cluster upgrades, patching, and capacity planning with minimal downtime.Configure monitoring, dashboards, and alerts using Grafana.Integrate Elasticsearch with Logstash, Kafka, Beats, and related tools.Troubleshoot and resolve ELK stack performance and operational issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design Elastic solutions aligned to business needs.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required.7–15 years of overall experience; 7+ years as Elasticsearch/ELK Administrator.Strong expertise in Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, cluster design, scaling, and index tuning.Hands-on experience with cluster builds, upgrades, and production operations.Proficiency in Unix/Shell scripting, Git, monitoring tools (Grafana), and automation.Working knowledge of Ruby and/or Python is a plus.Soft Skills:Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Collaborative team player.Interview Process: First-round technical interview focused on ELK/Elasticsearch design, administration, and upgrades, followed by a cultural/background fit interview.
