Sr Software EngineerWe are seeking a highly skilled Sr Software Engineer to join our team in Minneapolis. This position will focus on developing embedded C++ software.
The role is predominantly an individual contributor position, involving approximately 90% software design and development and 10% software technical leadership.ResponsibilitiesOversee software engineering efforts, including estimating, planning, requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, hardware/software integration, integration testing, simulated flyout testing, and testing at the range.Monitor and control execution of software engineering efforts, taking corrective actions as needed to ensure technical, cost, and schedule performance.Support software verification planning, environment concepting/design, and development, execution, debugging, and review of software verification test scripts and procedures.Ensure team supports Software Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management audits and activities.Coordinate with Safety Engineering to ensure accurate and timely completion of software requirements development and safety efforts.Achieve on-time delivery of contract deliverables with high quality and first-pass customer acceptance.Execute projects with process discipline and rigor, adhering to tailored Business Management System (BMS) Procedures.Oversee Control Account(s) or Work Package(s), monitoring tasks, progress, and taking corrective actions as needed.Plan software project schedules in support of product-level development schedules.Work with IPT lead and PEM(s) to plan formal software development milestone reviews with USG customer representatives.Evaluate software requirements for consistency with higher-level performance and customer requirements.Coordinate development work with software Architect, ensuring technical outcomes meet customer needs.Guide project team in collaborative problem-solving and conflict resolution.Plan stakeholder engagement for software projects, ensuring involvement of systems and safety engineering.Communicate proactively with multiple leaders and notify management of emerging risks, issues, and opportunities.Provide clear, concise work direction to project personnel and apply knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines.Coordinate all Cybersecurity efforts within the Software domain.Prepare and present project metrics and technical status at reviews and meetings.Manage internal and external resources to meet project obligations and objectives.Provide performance and development review inputs for project personnel.Continuously maintain and enhance the technical reputation of the team with customers and industry.Essential SkillsProficiency in C++ and embedded software development.Experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal real-time application development.Knowledge of applicable software management and engineering development processes.5+ years of software development experience.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.Additional Skills & QualificationsCybersecurity certification is a plus.Experience with Linux is beneficial.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in Minneapolis MN, in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
