Responsibilities

About the team: The centralized QA Team of the US Tech Service department of TikTok provides support for multiple service component value chains. In this role, team members have the opportunity to validate, automate, develop and manage the complex challenges of scale with your expertise in large‑scale systems. The main responsibilities include maintaining automation test, handling user feedback, functional validation, building the App and release management.

As an SDET on our Test team, you will:

  1. Test complex API, web and mobile based applications that reference back‑end systems;
  2. Be responsible for the entire system testing process, including but not limited to: analysis, designing and executing test plans and cases, and conducting defect tracking;
  3. Work on project management, risk management, and process management tasks;
  4. Reproduce, debug, and isolate problems and verify fixes;
  5. Help implement test tools and collaborate with automation/performance test teams to build up internal tools/frameworks/platforms to make the team more productive.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. BS/MS degree in a relevant field: Computer Sicence/Engineering or EE;
  2. Familiar with Java/Python/Objective‑C/Golang, experience in related project development;
  3. Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to coordinate with different teams;
  4. A strong passion for mobile internet and building next generation mobile applications can take full responsibility for end to end service;
  5. Proactive, self‑driving, and in‑depth understanding of the business; capability of communicating with cross‑functional teams and taking charge of a business independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong coding skills and familiarity with Python.
  • Along with coding experience, experience of automation frameworks, tools, and services for mobile.
  • Experience in API and mobile testing / test automation. Familiarity with API test platforms, pytest, diff tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, life cycle, and processes.
  • Knowledge about various test methods and CI/CD is a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills are required for identifying and correcting issues.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $116,280 - $191,520 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
