Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite – 4 days/week) Industry: Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Employment Type: Contract Rate: DOE

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and enhance the enterprise vulnerability management program using tools such as Brinqa.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize vulnerabilities across servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
  • Partner with security and engineering teams to drive risk-based remediation.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and industry standards.

Server Patching & Remediation

  • Plan, schedule, and execute patching activities for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Track and report patch compliance metrics (e.g., MTTP – Mean Time to Patch).
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline patching and remediation processes.
  • Standardize patching procedures to minimize downtime and operational risk.

Observability & Reliability

  • Implement and enhance monitoring and observability using Datadog.
  • Build dashboards, alerts, and monitoring strategies to improve system health visibility.
  • Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
  • Analyze incidents and trends to drive continuous reliability improvements.

Collaboration & Operations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, infrastructure, security).
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems.
  • Provide best practices for reliability, scalability, and operational resilience.
  • Support on-call rotations and production issue resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.
  • Hands-on expertise in vulnerability management tools (Brinqa, Qualys, or similar).
  • Experience with Datadog for monitoring and observability.
  • Solid understanding of patch management and remediation workflows.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD).
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
  • Experience with incident management and on-call support.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices.
