Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite – 4 days/week) Industry: Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Employment Type: Contract Rate: DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and enhance the enterprise vulnerability management program using tools such as Brinqa.
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize vulnerabilities across servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
- Partner with security and engineering teams to drive risk-based remediation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and industry standards.
Server Patching & Remediation
- Plan, schedule, and execute patching activities for Windows and Linux servers.
- Track and report patch compliance metrics (e.g., MTTP – Mean Time to Patch).
- Develop automation scripts to streamline patching and remediation processes.
- Standardize patching procedures to minimize downtime and operational risk.
Observability & Reliability
- Implement and enhance monitoring and observability using Datadog.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and monitoring strategies to improve system health visibility.
- Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
- Analyze incidents and trends to drive continuous reliability improvements.
Collaboration & Operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, infrastructure, security).
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems.
- Provide best practices for reliability, scalability, and operational resilience.
- Support on-call rotations and production issue resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Hands-on expertise in vulnerability management tools (Brinqa, Qualys, or similar).
- Experience with Datadog for monitoring and observability.
- Solid understanding of patch management and remediation workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
- Experience with incident management and on-call support.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices.
