Job Description:
This role supports the client's undersea warfare mission by developing and implementing signal processing algorithms and embedded software for sonar and submarine systems.
Job Summary
• Develop embedded software in support of sonar and anti-submarine warfare systems within a cross-functional engineering team.
• Design and implement models and algorithms in MATLAB and C/C++ to enhance sonar and auxiliary submarine systems.
• Translate Systems Engineering and Signal Processing algorithm designs into optimized C/C++ code within defined processor and memory constraints.
• Conduct integration activities and provide test support and problem resolution across multiple system variants.
• Adapt across programming languages and toolsets as mission requirements evolve.
• Collaborate independently on complex signal processing challenges, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills throughout development cycles.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education and experience, with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in signal processing with demonstrated experience in undersea acoustics or related undersea domains.
• Programming experience in C/C++ with the ability to optimize code for constrained embedded environments.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and Agile development methodologies.
• Active or interim Secret clearance (required for IRAD work; no clearance required for the international program track).
• Experience in undersea acoustics or acoustic processing for sonar applications.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for algorithm development and modeling.
• Minor or coursework concentration in Mathematics or Physics.
• Background in research facilities, government programs, or defense contracting environments.
