Shipper/ReceiverRapid Micro Biosystems is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Shipper/Receiver to join our logistics team, with a primary focus on outbound shipping. This role is critical to ensuring our products move accurately and compliantly across international borders. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with international shipping documentation, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification, and works confidently with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, process, and manage international and domestic outbound shipments as the primary function of the role, ensuring accuracy in documentation, labeling, and packagingClassify goods using accurate HTS codes and ensure compliance with U.S.
export regulations and destination country import requirementsPrepare commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other export documentationCoordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely and compliant international deliveryReceive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips; report discrepancies or damageMaintain accurate inventory records for both incoming and outgoing materialsUtilize SAP to process shipping/receiving transactions, update inventory records, and generate shipping documentationEnsure proper handling, packaging, and labeling of materials in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirementsSupport Dangerous Goods (DG) shipment identification and handling procedures where applicableMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area in compliance with company and safety standardsIdentify process improvements and proactively resolve shipping issues with minimal directionQualificationsRequired:3-5 years of shipping/receiving experience, with a strong emphasis on international shippingWorking knowledge of HTS code classification and export documentation requirementsExperience with SAP or similar ERP system for inventory and shipping transactionsDemonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and accuracy in documentationAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack)High school diploma or equivalentPreferred:Dangerous Goods (DG) certification (IATA/DOT/IMDG)Experience in a life sciences, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with export compliance regulations (EAR, ITAR awareness a plus)Compensation & ScheduleSalary: $79,000 annually (Non-Exempt/Hourly position)Schedule: Full-time, on-site at our Lowell, MA facilityBenefits per Rapid Micro Biosystems' standard package
