We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive complex software engineering projects that push the boundaries of additive manufacturing. In this role, you'll work closely with our software engineering team to ensure the effective delivery of high-impact technical initiatives that advance our mission.This role will be located at our Sunnyvale, CA office.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate complex software development programsDevelop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plansTrack project progress, milestones, budgets, and dependenciesManage key vendor relationshipsProactively identify and mitigate risks in the development of our products and servicesFacilitate effective communication within and between teams, escalating issues when necessaryProvide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders on key initiativesDrive technical decision-making processes and help teams reach consensusHelp define and participate in the rhythms and processes of our software team (stand-ups, planning sessions, backlog groomings, on-call practices, deployment cycles, etc)Partner with Product Management and Engineering Managers to lead software team structures, cadences, and cultureQualifications5+ years of experience in technical program management in the context of software deliveryFluency in typical software development workflows (e.g.

Agile) and key lifecycles (e.g. release management)Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projectsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge gaps across various disciplines and perspectivesAbility to understand and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDeep experience in software development lifecyclesExperience with common project management and software development tools (e.g., Jira, Google Drive, Confluence, GitHub, etc.)Experience adopting AI for appropriate tasks (we use Claude)Nice-to-Have QualificationsExperience in 3D printing technologies specifically or manufacturing generallyKnowledge of CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and or manufacturing-focused Quality Management SystemsExperience shipping software to physical devices (in addition to cloud-based software deployments)Key CompetenciesIndependence: Ability to work autonomously and make decisions with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environmentTask Management: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, crucial for managing complex product development cyclesClear Communication: Articulate complex ideas and concerns effectively to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives and customersTechnical Depth: Strong technical acumen to understand and represent engineering challengesLeadership: Influence and motivate cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering a culture of innovationAdaptability: Thrive in Carbon's dynamic environment, quickly adjusting to new technological developments and market demandsOur Technical Program Managers play a crucial role in driving innovation and delivering groundbreaking additive manufacturing solutions. The compensation bracket for this position is $182,400 - $273,600 per year. In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $228,000, taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role.Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Sunnyvale office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.Carbon also offers to our eligible employees a comprehensive total rewards package that includes equity, benefits, and time off programs.
