About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, oversee complex tax engagements, support business development efforts, and help drive the continued growth of the firm's tax practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory engagements for privately held and closely held business clients.
  • Review and oversee Federal tax returns, including:
  • C-Corporations
  • S-Corporations
  • Partnerships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax matters, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Support partners in identifying and developing opportunities for additional services and client growth.
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues and special projects.
  • Lead client engagements from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing priorities, deadlines, and client expectations.
  • Review reports, tax filings, and client deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes.
  • Analyze complex tax matters and provide strategic insights and solutions to clients.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals through coaching, training and performance management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Progressive experience managing tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Certifications: Active CPA license strongly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of federal business taxation and tax planning strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and tax technology platforms.
  • Business development mindset with the ability to build and expand client relationships.

Pay range and compensation package

Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000, depending on experience, credentials, and overall fit.
