Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross‑functional or cross‑business projects.
- Experience designing, building, or implementing cutting‑edge machine learning (ML) and developer‑focused tooling.
- Experience developing and scaling high‑performance developer tools, environments, or platforms.
Responsibilities
- Set overarching technical goals, roadmap, and architectural decisions to ensure Colab continues as the premier notebook platform inside and outside Google.
- Collaborate closely with product, user experience (UX), and partner engineering teams to seamlessly align technical execution with product strategy and goals.
- Oversee the scalability, reliability, security, and overall engineering excellence of all Colab systems and infrastructure.
- Scale team velocity and performance continuously by advocating and implementing the best engineering tools and practices.
- Mentor, guide, and develop executive engineers and technical leads (TLs) actively within the Colab organization to build a strong engineering culture.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables; design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
US: $262,000 - $365,000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.
