The Senior Project Manager will manage the projects from design through construction and closeout, ensuring alignment with client goals, operational requirements, schedule milestones, budget parameters, and quality expectations. The Senior Project Manager requires local presence in Denver and the ability to represent the client effectively in coordination with the design team, construction team, airport stakeholders, client representatives, and local authorities having jurisdiction. The Senior Project Manager will be required to work on-site 3-5 days a week at the project office and Denver International Airport.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure full application of the JWI Playbook across all project phasesAct as the primary interface with the client and lead the project team through the entire project processResponsible for high level planning and programming analysis work including preparation of technical documents, testing plans, and proposalsEstablish and implement project objectives, policies, procedures, roles, reporting structures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specificationsServe as a positive and professional ambassador of JWI, fostering strong relationships with clients and strategic partnersManage client/partner relationshipsCollaborate with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors to define work procedures and resolve complaints and construction problemsParticipate in industry networking events and organizationsIntroduce business strategies and pursuitsAssist in the development of proposals and staff plansStrategize with leadership on opportunities for business development with existing and new clientsRepresent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetingsAssemble and distribute meeting minutesEnsure effective communication is always maintained within the team structure and Senior ManagementComplete weekly and monthly reports concerning work progress, costs, and schedulingProduce project schedule; coordinate schedule updates and distribute internally and externallyManage all financial aspects of project contract(s), including labor, expenses, reviewing invoicing, and staffing projections to protect company's interestFoster and maintain a positive working relationship with clientsCreate and oversee project budgets, manage project forecasts, schedules and expenses; anticipate potential changes to budget, schedule, and expenses and provide guidance and analysis of changesResponsible for ensuring that project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of qualityProduce and review design plans, specifications, and cost estimatesResponsible for interviewing, recommending, and negotiating contractual service agreements.
Prepare, negotiate, and authorize revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsManage the design process, review design submissions, and ensure compliance with project requirementsSchedule and facilitate project meetingsManage project staff and jobsite construction activitiesInvestigate potential situations and implement corrective measures as necessary; develop contingency plans to mitigate potential riskProvide guidance, oversight, coaching, and mentoring to other project staffPrepare and monitor punch list items; manage the close out process to completionAssist with succession planning, team training, employee reviews and development, talent acquisition (including interviews) and support the Human Resources function for department.Ensure the timely submission, review and approval of timesheets and expense reportsPerform other duties as may be required/directedRequirementsA bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, or equivalent work experience8+ years of experienceExperience in airport/airline project or construction management is requiredPMP, PMI, PE, AIA, NCIDQ, certifications are a plusAbility to obtain and maintain an airport badgeExcellent and timely oral and written communication skills. Proficient and electronic communication (email, chat, etc.)Excellent problem-solving skillsSelf sufficient with some oversight; oversight from supervisor on employee/business decisionsAdvanced interpersonal and personal organization skillsAdvanced personal/project administrative skills.
