Senior role responsible for designing, implementing & managing customized investment portfolios for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, trusts, foundations & small institutions located in Latin America. Duties include:

Design and manage multi-asset class portfolios tailored to Latin American clients’ objectives, time horizons, risk tolerance, and liquidity needs. Utilize a blend of active and passive strategies while ensuring compliance with SEC and RIA regulatory standards, fiduciary duties under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and internal risk controls. (20%)
Conduct investment research integrating top-down macroeconomic and bottom-up fundamental approaches. Apply portfolio management tools such as Bloomberg, EViews, Python, and Excel to support decision-making and strategy development. (15%)
Prepare, review and present investment reports in Spanish for Latin American clients, including performance analysis, market outlooks, and portfolio diagnostics, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. (15%)
Coordinate, prepare, and speak at investment forums and roadshows across target client countries in Latin America in partnership with sales and relationship teams. (10%)
Partner with employer’s client relationship managers in the U.S. and Latin America to align portfolios and communicate firm-level global house views and investment guidelines. (15%)
Participate in global investment forums with regional heads of investments in Latin America and Spain, contributing original research, presenting asset class views, collaborating on global projects, and engaging in decision-making discussions. (15%)
Supervise and mentor one or more junior portfolio management professionals, supporting their development in investment processes, tools, and strategies. (10%)
Position is based at employer’s Miami office, with the ability to telecommute two days per week. Travel is required to Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay and Spain to visit clients, 20% of work time.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics or Business Administration and 9 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in portfolio management or investment strategy, including:

9 years of experience in strategic asset allocation modeling, including building multi-asset class portfolios using risk/return optimization frameworks.
5 years of experience using Bloomberg Terminal to conduct fixed income & equity screening, yield analysis & macroeconomic data extraction.
5 years of experience using Excel to build multi-asset allocation models, return simulations, scenario & risk analysis using advanced formulas, pivot tables & VBA macros.
2 years of experience using optimizer tools.
3 years of experience in IPS development, creating investment policy statements and tailoring proposals for HNW and institutional clients.
4 years of experience in performing due diligence on and selecting global investment products, including ETFs and mutual funds.
2 years of experience in client relationship management including direct client interaction and advisory experience in a wealth management or institutional context.

Special Skills Requirements

The position requires at least one (or a combination, where noted) of the following financial licenses/certifications: Series 65; Series 7 together with Series 66; CFP; CIC; ChFC; PFS; or CFA. The position also requires written and oral Spanish fluency.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required to Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay and Spain to visit clients, 20% of work time.

Position is based at employer’s Miami office, with the ability to telecommute two days per week.
