Job Purpose

Independently leads development activities within major research and/or development programs. Operates with minimal technical oversight on broad-scope or highly complex projects. Recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more in‑house technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Innovation

• Drive complex or novel assignments requiring the creation or enhancement of techniques, methods, and procedures.
• Deliver work that results in new or refined technologies, products, materials, processes, equipment, or scientific methods that expand BSC’s Intellectual Property in strategic areas.
• Complete engineering work in one or more areas, including:
• Technology development
• Product design and development
• Process studies
• Research investigations (animal and clinical studies)
• Technical reporting

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Provide technical guidance to product and technology teams.
• Interface with physicians and Cath Lab personnel to identify unmet needs, gather feedback on device concepts and performance, and translate customer insights into product requirements.

Project & Team Management

• Assess feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
• Coordinate, manage, and document project goals, timelines, and progress; recommend revisions as needed.
• Develop and coach others in engineering documentation best practices.
• Train and provide work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers.
• Lead engineering teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong PDP/TPD system knowledge through coaching and delivery of high‑quality, high‑impact deliverables.

Quality Systems Responsibilities

• Embed quality into all aspects of work by maintaining full compliance with applicable quality system requirements.

Qualifications

• BS Degree: 9–13 years of experience
• MS Degree: 7–11 years of experience
• PhD Degree: 4–8 years of experience
