Senior Learning Specialist (Instructional Design & Training)

Position is remote and contract-based with a rate up to $40. This opportunity is not open to third parties or corp to corp engagements. Our client is a nationally recognized healthcare organization dedicated to advancing care for individuals living with chronic and complex conditions. They are seeking an experienced Senior Learning Specialist to lead the design, development, and delivery of engaging learning solutions that support organizational growth and performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished instructional design professional who enjoys blending creativity with strategy to build impactful training programs. In this role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the organization, manage learning initiatives from concept through implementation, facilitate training for diverse audiences, and help shape the future of employee development. This position also offers opportunities to mentor fellow learning professionals while contributing to enterprise-wide learning strategies. Important: A portfolio showcasing instructional design and learning development work is required for consideration. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Design and develop engaging learning solutions using a variety of instructional approaches, including instructor-led training, blended learning, eLearning, and microlearning.
  • Facilitate dynamic training sessions, workshops, and learning labs that effectively engage learners across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Lead training initiatives from needs assessment through evaluation, coordinating schedules, stakeholders, communications, and post-training analysis to ensure successful delivery.
  • Measure learning effectiveness using surveys, assessments, performance metrics, and other evaluation tools, then recommend continuous improvements based on data and feedback.
  • Partner with learning leadership on strategic training projects while mentoring and supporting other learning professionals as needed.

Here's what our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, Agile Learning, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality learning solutions created with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience managing end-to-end training programs, including needs analysis, instructional design, project management, facilitation, and learning evaluation.
  • Advanced facilitation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Experience administering and reporting within Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Previous mentoring or coaching experience within a learning and development team is preferred.
