Our client is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams to design next-generation medical devices focused on patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Firmware Architecture & Drivers: Design and architect next-gen firmware; develop low-level drivers for mechanical, electrical, and communication peripherals.
- Embedded Linux: Lead the creation and validation of custom embedded Linux distributions.
- Protocols & Algorithms: Develop communication protocols and assist with complex algorithm development.
- Quality & Testing: Triage field issues, automate processes, enhance unit test frameworks, and improve build systems.
Qualifications
Required
- Education & Experience: Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 7+ years of embedded software experience.
- Core Languages: Expertise in C/C++.
- Embedded Linux: Proven experience building and validating embedded Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot .
- Version Control & Testing: Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git, etc.) and unit testing frameworks.
Preferred
- Background in medical devices or regulated environments.
- Python scripting and CI/CD experience.
- Experience with robotics, servos, control systems, or UI development.
