Senior Electrical EngineerIMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Denver, CO, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects and help deliver larger, high-complexity work with limited support from senior staff. You'll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients—driving positive outcomes through project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of building electrical systems. You'll also support budget alignment, training and mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead design efforts for the analysis of building electrical systems for moderate to complex projectsDevelop detailed electrical designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standards using engineering software and toolsPerform site assessments and produce detailed analysis and technical reportsPartner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain strong working relationshipsProvide in-process design reviews (design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence) and apply IMEG quality control processesProvide technical assistance to help resolve field issues with limited support from senior staffTrain, mentor, and motivate staff to support performance and developmentStay current on industry trends and emerging technologies; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGPrioritize safety in all engineering work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsParticipate in project interviews and project presentationsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industryAdept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systemsKnowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam RevuAbility to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsStrong training and mentoring skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join Us IMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
