Senior Dynamic Stress Analysis Engineer – Space Propulsion

Denver, Colorado | On-site | $115,000–$175,000 + Bonus & Benefits

We’re partnering with a growing space propulsion company in the Denver area that is looking for a Senior Dynamic Stress Analysis Engineer to take technical ownership of the structural dynamics analysis of flight hardware.

You’ll work directly on electric propulsion systems, assessing the structural integrity of thrusters, propellant management systems and power electronics across demanding launch and on-orbit environments.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role for an experienced structural/stress engineer who combines strong FEA fundamentals with dynamic and transient analysis experience.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for structural analysis and verification of flight hardware from design through qualification and delivery, including:

  • Perform structural and dynamic stress analysis of aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Conduct FEA to determine structural margins under static and dynamic loading.
  • Analyze hardware subjected to random vibration, shock and transient dynamic environments.
  • Evaluate Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) survivability of components and assemblies.
  • Support qualification and acceptance testing, including random vibration and shock testing.
  • Provide analysis support for multiple spacecraft propulsion programs simultaneously.
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, systems and program teams to resolve structural issues.
  • Present analysis results at technical/design reviews and produce customer-facing analysis reports.
  • Support structural sign-off of flight hardware prior to customer delivery.
  • Contribute to improved structural-analysis processes, methods and tools.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of professional structural/stress analysis experience, with particular interest in engineers with 10+ years of experience.
  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Extensive hands-on experience performing FEA and structural margin assessment.
  • Experience with dynamic analysis such as modal, random vibration, transient response, shock and/or SRS.
  • Experience supporting structural or dynamic testing of aerospace hardware.
  • Experience with tools such as FEMAP/Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS or equivalent FEA packages.
  • Ability to independently own analysis while reviewing and communicating results across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, satellites, propulsion systems, MATLAB/Python, dynamic test fixtures, shock isolation, ceramics or brittle materials would be particularly valuable.

Why Join?

You’ll join a team developing flight-proven electric propulsion technology for spacecraft, with the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of how critical flight hardware is structurally analyzed, qualified and ultimately cleared for flight.

Rather than operating as one analyst within a huge organization, you’ll have direct technical influence across multiple programs and work closely with the engineers designing and building the hardware.

Salary: $115,000–$175,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive healthcare, PTO and 401(k).

Location: Denver Metropolitan Area – on-site.

Due to U.S. space technology export-control requirements, applicants must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements.
