Senior Director, Partnership Development & Stewardship (Community Impact Groups & Organizations)

Essential Job Functions
- Leads the day‑to‑day operations of the Partnership Development & Stewardship team focused on Community Impact Groups & Organizations. Responsible for planning and implementing fundraising, engagement, retention, solicitation, and growth strategies for partners within the assigned audience. Works with senior management to identify and implement strategies that increase revenue, awareness, and long‑term partner engagement.
- Uses fundraising, sponsorship, relationship‑building, and sales expertise to develop, design, implement, and manage a comprehensive proactive plan focused on enhancing partner relationships. Directs and coordinates activities related to obtaining financial support through sponsorships, events, workplace giving, matching gifts, and other fundraising initiatives. Analyzes and reports regularly on partner progress and assists the team in developing strategies and goals to increase engagement and revenue.
- Interfaces regularly with senior leadership, Acquisition, Development, and Thanks and Giving to cultivate and steward new partners into meaningful and profitable ongoing relationships with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Responsible for revenue growth and stewardship of existing partners within the assigned audience, ensuring long‑term, mutually beneficial relationships that advance the mission of St. Jude.
- Develops and implements strategies to ensure that ALSAC meets its critical goals and supports overall business objectives in the most effective and efficient manner possible. Interfaces with other ALSAC departments on objectives and develops strong working relationships across the organization to accomplish division and organizational goals. Builds and fosters a community of best practices for partnership development and stewardship, leveraging successful strategies while adapting approaches to the unique needs of community, membership‑based, civic, and volunteer‑led organizations.
- Develops, mentors, and coaches a team of professionals that can provide guidance to leadership and employees regarding strategy, administration, procedures/policies, analysis, best practices, and communication. Conducts a regular cadence of meetings with both individual team members and the entire team. Ensures staff development, writes performance appraisals, and oversees the hiring process for new employees. Requires strong employee training and development skills to ensure employees at every level receive suitable assessment and training that is position appropriate.
- Implements the enterprise account management strategy with the purpose of driving more partnership engagement and revenue across the enterprise by leveraging strengths and expertise across the organization. Directs the partnership retention process and supports portfolio management strategies using Moves Management principles to ensure appropriate cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and growth opportunities for all partners. Supports the tiered management approach across the enterprise, inclusive of accounts managed by the national home office, territories, and concierge teams.
- Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Operates within established budgetary parameters. Utilizes strong problem‑solving skills to effectively address issues in collaboration with others, proactively identify and prevent potential problems, and develop problem‑solving capabilities among team members.
- Uses effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with and interact with senior‑level executives and organizational leaders. Communicates appropriate information regarding partnership activity, including progress, successes, and challenges, to key stakeholders.
- Serves as a primary leadership contact for partners within the assigned audience. Attends partner meetings and organizational events as needed. Works with other ALSAC divisions, including Territories and Marketing, to develop and provide local public relations opportunities for key partners.
- Represents the Partnership Development & Stewardship team and ALSAC at various partner and organizational functions as assigned and appropriate, including dinners and galas, partner meetings, check presentations, conferences, and speaking engagements.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in organizational management and fundraising, including campaign development, execution, sponsorships, relationship management, and marketing strategies.
- Knowledge of relationship‑based fundraising, donor stewardship, portfolio management, and Moves Management principles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Requires thorough knowledge of general management methods with strong team management skills working with large, varied teams.
- Excellent diplomatic skills.
- Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal and external relations.
- Ability to understand extremely complex verbal or written instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
- Experience developing partnerships with community, membership, civic, faith‑based, fraternal, or volunteer‑led organizations preferred.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible fundraising, partnership development, business development, or related experience, including leadership experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- This position is Memphis-preferred, though we welcome strong candidates from other U.S. locations.
