Job Title: Senior Data Governance Program Manager

Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)

Rate: $70–$73/hr

Type: Contract W2 or C2C.

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Program Manager with strong healthcare experience to lead and operationalize an enterprise Data Governance program. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong Data Governance expertise, program execution, stakeholder management, and enterprise data catalog experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Data Governance program plan, Jira board, milestones, risks, KPIs, and 24-month roadmap.
• Coordinate monthly Data Governance Council meetings, scorecards, executive reporting, escalations, and action tracking.
• Lead Data Governance domain onboarding, including Data Owner designation, Data Steward onboarding, governance workshops, and Data Quality initiatives .
• Develop and maintain Data Governance policies, standards, domain playbooks, and the policy register.
• Manage Data Governance workflows and business glossary processes within Alation .
• Track catalog coverage, Data Quality issues, governance KPIs, and remediation activities across multiple data domains.
• Partner with InfoSec and technical teams on data classification, Databricks Unity Catalog, RBAC, and data access governance .
• Support AI Data Governance , including model cards, lineage, governance checklists, and AI use‑case compliance.
• Facilitate workshops with senior business leaders, Data Owners, Data Stewards, engineers, and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or enterprise program leadership.
• Proven experience leading Data Governance programs across multiple business domains .
• Hands‑on experience with Alation preferred ; Collibra, Informatica Axon, or Atlan acceptable.
• Strong understanding of DAMA DMBOK2 and Data Governance principles.
• CDMP certification or commitment to obtain within 12 months.
• Strong experience developing governance policies, playbooks, stewardship processes, and executive‑level communications.
• Experience using Jira for governance/program workflow management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and written communication skills.

Preferred

Experience with HEDIS, CMS Stars, Medicare Advantage, HIPAA, Databricks Unity Catalog, Great Expectations, Data Quality frameworks, or AI Data Governance is highly preferred.

Ideal Candidate: A seasoned Data Governance professional who combines Healthcare Payer + Enterprise Data Governance + Alation + DAMA/CDMP + Program Management experience.
