Senior Dam Safety Engineer/ FERC Independent Consultant
HDR is seeking experienced Senior Dam Safety Engineers and/or FERC-approved Independent Consultants across multiple locations in the U.S. to join our Hydropower Practice. Our team specializes in FERC Part 12 Dam Safety Program compliance, including Comprehensive Assessments and Periodic Inspections, providing engineering consulting for hydropower and dam safety projects nationwide.
The role involves performing inspections and assessments of dams and hydraulic structures, conducting analyses, leading design projects, and working with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with FERC regulations and dam safety practices. FERC Independent Consultant approval or the ability to obtain it within 1-2 years is required.
Preferred skills include experience with finite element software, proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or MicroStation, and strong communication skills.
