Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior AWS Engineer / Infrastructure Lead to drive the design, implementation, and support of AWS infrastructure for a modernization program.

This role requires end-to-end ownership of the infrastructure stream, including sprint planning, team leadership, deployment oversight, and production support.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS services, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and multi-region resiliency, with recent experience in the FinTech or Banking domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the infrastructure stream: define sprint scope, create infra stories, prioritize backlog, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership to onsite and offshore teams on AWS architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and implement serverless, event-driven AWS architectures using Lambda (Python/Java), ECS Fargate, Step Functions, and EventBridge.
  • Translate legacy Mainframe Assembler logic and Mastercard IPM messages into Python/Java-based workflows on AWS.
  • Implement multi-region active/passive architecture using S3 Cross-Region Replication, Aurora Global Databases, and EventBridge Global Endpoints.
  • Manage infrastructure provisioning using Terraform-based EAC (Environment as Code) automation framework.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Spinnaker or Jenkins for Lambda and ECS workloads.
  • Enforce TrueCD testing practices including contract, integration, and regression testing.
  • Implement observability and monitoring using CloudWatch, Datadog, X-Ray, and Splunk.
  • Ensure security best practices across IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and VPC/network design.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, refine infrastructure user stories, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Document architecture, deployment runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and operational playbooks.
  • (Preferred) Contribute to Airflow DAG development for Visa and Mastercard processing workflows.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of cloud engineering experience, with 3+ years in AWS.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, ECS Fargate, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, MWAA, Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless.
  • Expertise in Terraform (EAC wrapper) for multi-region infrastructure provisioning.
  • Experience implementing HA/DR and replication strategies (Aurora Global DB, S3 CRR).
  • Proven CI/CD automation experience with Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with TrueCD test strategies and contract testing frameworks.
  • Strong coding skills in Python or Java for data parsing and workflow development.
  • Deep understanding of AWS security practices including IAM, KMS, and network isolation.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of onsite experience in Tier 1 environments.
  • Recent experience in FinTech or Banking domain.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or MWAA for orchestration.
  • Exposure to Mainframe modernization or Mastercard IPM/Visa VTF.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with enterprise-scale stakeholders.
