This is a high-impact, hands-on position where you'll work directly alongside the Controller to keep financial operations running smoothly across all three lines of business. You'll support accounts receivable, collections, journal entries, sales reporting, and more — with the opportunity to grow into increased responsibility over time.This is a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves environment.

If you thrive in a lean, team-first culture and want a role you can truly make your own, this is it.Core Responsibilities• Manage accounts receivable reporting and lead collections follow-up across all three lines of business• Prepare and analyze sales reports by line of business (service, construction, and controls)• Maintain job cost reporting — tracking actual vs. estimated costs by job, phase, and cost code• Prepare and update Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, including overbillings, underbillings, and percent complete calculations• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting• Monitor and support sales tax compliance across project types, navigating materials vs.
labor distinctions• Manage subcontractor documentation including lien waivers and certificates of insurance• Support ERP transition from Computer Ease to Access Coins, including data migration and process documentation• Contribute to process improvements and identify efficiencies as the role and company continue to growCross-Training ResponsibilitiesAs part of a collaborative, all-hands team, this role will also develop working knowledge of the following areas to provide coverage and support as needed:• Large job and service billing, including customer invoicing workflows• Accounts payable processing, vendor setup, and invoice coding• Payroll support, including familiarity with union payroll requirements across many different unionsRequired• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience• Strong working knowledge of AR, collections, journal entries, and month-end close• Proficiency in accounting software and ability to learn new platforms quickly• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindsetStrongly Preferred• Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or a related industry• Familiarity with job costing and multi-line-of-business accounting• Experience with construction ERP platforms (Access Coins, Computer Ease, or similar)• Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar business operating frameworksEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent experience considered.Compensation & BenefitsSalary $75,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experienceAnnual bonus discretionary, up to 10%Annual reviews with pay increasesClient covers 70% of medical insuranceDental, vision, and life insurance options401(k) with 3% company match15 days PTO, increases with tenure7 paid holidays including a flex holidayThis is a hybrid role based in the Twin Cities, MN area.
