Advanced Energy has devoted four decades to perfecting power for its global customers and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.The Senior Accountant will assist with our global closing process as part of the global shared services accounting team to meet deadlines for internal and external reporting. This role is responsible for consistency and accuracy in our closing processes in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. Additionally, the role will drive efficiencies, participate in the establishment of a shared services center, contribute to a strong control environment to enable best practices, standardization, and scale within a global growing organization. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to multi-task with effective communication. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

The role will also serve as a business partner with other teams within the global CFO organization.Responsibilities:Support and play a key role in the month end close activities and general accounting functions, including:Prepare journal entries and ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with US GAAP, internal controls, and company policiesPrepare and review account reconciliationsCollaborate and serve as the business partner for global shared servicesProvide variance analysis on owned parts of the financial statementsActively support the design and implementation of a global shared services accounting model, including areas such as: Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting (ASC 842), Prepaid Expenses, cash, intercompany, etc.Assist in defining standardized processes, policies, and procedures across regions and entitiesLeverage IT tools to enable efficiencies and enhance accounting operationsEnsures compliance with internal controlsSupport internal/external audits, including preparation of audit requestsCommunicate with local and foreign subsidiaries on new accounting issues and resolutionsAssist in Next Generation ERP implementationWork on other ad-hoc projects as neededWork Environment:Location: Denver, CO Onsite, office environmentQualifications:Self-starter with organizational, time management and interpersonal skillsStrong accounting and analytical skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to adapt, communicate and connect with teams in a global diverse environmentAbility to identify and implement process improvement opportunitiesAdvanced Microsoft application skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Problem-solverExperience:4+ years of related progressive experience in corporate accounting and consolidationsExperience with large ERP system environment (SAP, S4/Hana, Oracle, Blackline)Experience working for a multi-national companySolid working knowledge of US GAAPPublic company experience – desiredEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education and /or experience.Desirable: CPA or MBASAP experienceCompensation:As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
