nJob Description Summary:
nThis position is responsible for managing the month end close process including preparing journal entries, setting up fixed assets and running depreciation expense, and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. This position is also responsible for preparing the monthly financial statements, assisting in the annual budget process, assisting in preparation of audit schedules and documentation for year-end financial statement audit, and providing other financial reporting.
nEssential Functions:
nManage month end close process including preparing journal entries, setting up fixed assets and running depreciation expense, preparing monthly bank reconciliations, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, and analysis of actual versus budget variances.
nPrepare monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
nPrepare internal and external financial reporting requests including government reporting (i.e. Annual Survey of Manufacturers, Annual Business Survey for Research Activities at Non-Proft Organizations, etc.).
nPrepare weekly cash reporting for Senior Management Team.
nMaintain fixed asset detail reporting and reconcile to general ledger; Prepare actual versus capital budget reporting as needed.
nAssist in preparation of annual budget including preparation of department budget input files and transfers budget data back and forth between Solution 7 and NetSuite.
nAssist in preparation of audit schedules and documentation for year-end financial statement audit.
nSet up new customers in NetSuite after reviewing all required documents and file documentation electronically.
nAssist in research and implementation of NetSuite system enhancements and process improvements.
nWorks independently and has strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
nAdhere to all current organizational policies including Finance department policies and procedures and MDI Handbook.
nMaintain highest levels of ethics and confidentiality.
nFunctions effectively in a fast paced, diverse, team environment.
nMaintain a safe work environment for yourself and others including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
nOther duties as assigned.
nQualifications:
nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields or equivalent experience.
nCPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.
nFive or more years of related experience (manufacturing industry would be a +).
nStrong knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite would be a +).
nIntermediate to advanced Excel skills.
nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
nDemonstrated knowledge and abilities regarding GAAP and audit practices.
nSatisfactory completion of a criminal background and credit check.
nVerified eligibility for employment in the United States.
nEnvironment and Physical Demands:
nA traditional work week (M-F) with MDI core hours. Work during non-traditional hours periodically required.
nBasic vision is required
nWorks in a typical office setting which includes;
nContinuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking.
nOccasionally lift, reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
nOccasionally works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, odors and temperature fluctuations.)
