However, we are open to considering remote candidates who are willing and able to spend time in our office during the initial training period to ensure successful onboarding and skill development.Forge Nano Inc, a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coating equipment across a wide range of markets, is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer specializing in Semiconductor equipment. This position covers a broad range of advanced service duties, including servicing equipment in the field, performing remote/virtual service calls, participating in continual improvement efforts and interacting frequently in customer-facing situations, which require a friendly, patient and professional attitude.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site installation, service, modification and repair of Semiconductor ALD coating equipment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfactionTroubleshoot new problems remotely and in the field efficientlyCo-author and follow necessary documentation for procedures, processes, and best practices including work instructions, standard operating procedures and completing relevant checklistsSupport in-house semiconductor tool operations, demo coatings and maintenance requirementsInterface with Forge Nano's R&D, Operations and Engineering teams for continuous improvement projectsOrder / install parts and help manage inventory systemMaintain a safe work environment and staying OSHA compliant with relevant safety trainingAdhere to both internal and customer standards of conductProfessionally represent the company to the customerInitiate management of changes or corrective action requests for continual improvementRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience OR Technical Associate's Degree or equivalent military training with 8+ years' experienceIndustry-relevant field service and customer service experienceProficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.; CRM platforms, etc.Preferred Skills and ExperiencePrior experience in service and equipment repair in a cleanroom environmentBasic understanding of semiconductor deposition techniques and equipment designPrior experience in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of capital chemical processing equipment, while complying with customer proceduresUnderstanding of industrial safety standards and handling of hazardous materialsAble to travel frequently, and on short notice if requiredExcellent customer-facing communication skillsExperience following and/or writing work instructions and standard operating proceduresDiligent organizational skillsAbility to prioritize and execute tasks with stringent deadlinesFlexibility to take support calls outside regular business hoursWork EnvironmentWork is carried out in our large technical facility, remotely and at customer locations, often in cleanrooms and frequently with minimal physical clearance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may handle hazardous chemicals at times. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, etc.
