Sinker EDM Field Service TechnicianAs a Sinker EDM Field Service Technician, you will utilize customer communication skills, and the mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair, troubleshoot, modify and test complex technical problems on Mitsubishi Machining products. This is a 100% travel position, Monday through Friday. Travel is primarily throughout the US, but can be international in some cases as well. Our services are provided on-site at our customer's facilities and via telephone if the situation permits.

We train the right people for a successful career in the machinery industry and pride ourselves on employee longevity and customer retention.Essential ResponsibilitiesTravel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repairExamine machines mechanically and electrically in order to perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding as neededDiagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephoneCommunicate professionally and effectively with customersEffectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problemsDocument in detail product problems and resolutionsOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Voltmeter, Oscilloscope and other measurement equipment)Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problemsSkilled in mechanical measurement and inspection techniques (Dial Indicators, Micrometers, and Calipers)Working ConditionsJob operates mainly indoors, but is exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud.

This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license is required.Physical RequirementsThis job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds.

Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices.
