Sample Processing Technician And Glassware Support TechnicianWorking 40 hours per week M-F onsite at our James Ford Bell Location. Required steel toed shoes. We have two shifts: 7-3 and 9-5.

We alternate shifts during the week so they need to be available for both. They will either work 7-3 or 9-5 depending on the day/week. We can be flexible with the hours though if someone has another obligation.This position is responsible for executing excellence across two main responsibilities that are integral to our business and lab operations.

As a sample processing technician, you will be responsible for performing processing and comminution techniques in a high-volume, fast-paced commercial lab. Sample preparation is the first stage of the sample life cycle and it is crucial that all steps (preparation, aliquoting, labeling, and storage) are completed correctly to ensure the accuracy of lab testing. As a glassware support technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing lab glassware according to procedure to prevent contamination and adhere to our high standards of quality results.Responsibilities:Follow preparation techniques for the processing of samples for lab testing, including the use of grinding mills and other comminution techniques (i.e.

blenders, Magic Bullet grinders, liquid nitrogen).Ensure accurate labeling of sample cups with assigned unique identifiers.Record sample preparation techniques and delivery details into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software.Maintain organization structure of samples by accurately delivering and disposing of samples as necessary.Execute submission requests through third party labs by logging samples and preparing them for shipment.Follow all lab safety and quality requirements and procedures (i.e. PPE, GMP, OSHA, ISO).Empty washers and place clean glassware in designated baskets.Reload washers with dirty glassware using the correct and appropriate racks and proper wash cycles.Deliver clean glassware to labs and bring back any dirty glassware baskets.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years experience in customer serviceAS or BS degree in science-related fieldAdditional Skills/Experiences:Ability to use multiple systems (LIMS, salesforce, Outlook, OneNote, subcontract lab portals)Broad knowledge of food testing servicesStrong attention to detailFast learner with natural curiosity and drive to learnProficient in multitasking and prioritization of tasksAble and willing to ask clarifying questionsDemonstrates flexibility in daily tasks and changes in workloadProfessional written and verbal communication skillsStrives in a fast-paced environmentPossesses strong teamwork and interpersonal skillsPossesses proactive mindsetAbility to work independently and in a collaborative team settingAble to lift 40 poundsAble to stand for 5-6 hours dailyAble to complete various tasks while wearing required PPE (i.e. face shields, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, OSHA-approved safety glasses, laboratory coat, cryogenic gloves)
