Sales Engineer - Optical / Packet Networking

$115,000 Base Salary + Commission

We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with Ciena or Nokia experience in optical or packet networking. This position supports the sales team through technical discovery, solution design, quoting, proposals, and customer presentations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates effectively, and can quickly learn the product portfolio and contribute.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and develop networking solutions.
• Design and configure solutions, prepare accurate quotes, and assist with pricing, proposals, and statements of work.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept.
• Work with customers, vendors, and internal engineering teams throughout the sales process.
• Support optical networking, packet networking, network management, and automation solutions.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of relevant networking experience.
• Experience with Ciena or Nokia optical or packet networking products.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting technical sales, solution design, or proposals.
• Willingness to travel domestically for customer meetings and sales engagements.

Location:

In-office work in Richardson, TX is preferred. Remote candidates will be considered in the New York tri-state area, Washington, D.C., Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Austin, Los Angeles, Denver, Boston, Columbus, Portland, and Raleigh.

Local candidates must reside within 40 miles of the Richardson office. Remote candidates must reside in an approved metro area within 40 miles of a Tier 1 airport.
