A leading regional waste company is seeking a Market Area Safety Manager to be based out of Danbury, CT. The Market Area Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving all aspects of safety and compliance within a designated market area. Reporting to the Market Area Vice President, this role ensures adherence to health, safety, and transportation regulations, aligning company standards with federal, state, and local laws.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing safety programs
- Analyzing safety performance
- Conducting incident investigations
- Managing compliance training
- Supervising safety personnel
- Conducting facility audits, route observations, and safety meetings
- Collaborating with leadership
- Tracking safety metrics
- Implementing corporate safety initiatives
Strong regulatory knowledge (OSHA, DOT, DEC, etc.), leadership abilities, and analytical skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in the sanitation industry, bilingual communication skills, and proficiency in safety compliance software. Base salary would be $120k.
