Position Overview

RN, Wound Care Nurse at NHC HealthCare St Charles

Position: Wound Care Nurse, RN (Registered Nurse) / LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients with wounds and injuries, ensuring optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures.
• Provide preventative care to prevent infection and complications.
• Educate and coordinate care with other health professionals.
• Primarily responsible for overseeing the Wound Care Measures.
• Communicate changes in patients’ conditions to physicians, supervisors, family members, dieticians, and other partners as appropriate.
• Act as a go-to person for partner support.
• Provide education to partners through in-services and one-on-one learning.
• Investigate, track and trend identified areas of opportunities.
• Provide partner support and coaching.
• On‑call rotation with other nurse managers.

Qualifications

• Must have a Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Superior communication skills and effective leadership.
• Flexible, caring, compassionate, and a team player.
• Prior experience in wound care preferred, but not required.
