RN-First Assist Certified

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - First Assist Certified to provide direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Positioning patients for optimal surgical exposure, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Implementing physician orders to visualize the operative site through tissue manipulation, retraction, suctioning, and irrigation.
• Achieving hemostasis using appropriate techniques.
• Assisting with wound closure, applying dressings, and securing drainage systems.
• Applying evidence-based practices tailored to patient age and clinical needs.
• Maintaining safety and alertness throughout duties.
• Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Include

• Completion of an RNFA program meeting AORN standards or equivalent.
• At least two years of RN experience in advanced surgical specialties.
• Current RN licensure in Missouri or a Compact State.
• CRNFA certification from CCI or NASC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

Skills required:

strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, ability to work in a high-alert environment, and physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving patients and equipment.

This role involves day shifts, on-call duties including nights, weekends, and holidays, with physical requirements including frequent movement, lifting, and communication tasks.
