Overview
We are seeking a cath lab nurse who is dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiac care. This role offers flexible weekends and holidays, with emergent on‑call duties when duty calls.
Responsibilities
- Take lead on patient care: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints.
- Explain procedures to patients and families as appropriate.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and physicians to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
- Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or concerns.
- Execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
- Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communication, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
- Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
- Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
- Assist team members without being asked.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
Preferred: BSN, experience in an acute care hospital.
