Resident Engineer, TS/SCI with FS Poly, Columbia/Fort Meade, MD

Senior Network Engineer needed for a full time opportunity with SOC's direct client based in Ft. Meade, MD.  Direct Hire Role **Due to federal requirements, an Active DOW TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph to be considered for this role.** Job Responsibilities: Clearance requirement:  TS/SCI w/Full Scope Polygraph (MD Customer)Full-time on-site position at a customer location in the Columbia/Ft. Meade areaOperations and maintenance of a data center networkDeep understanding of routing and switching technologies commonly implemented in data center networks including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudo wires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE), Routing Policies, and associated tunneling technologies (GRE, VXLAN, etc.).Juniper products to be supported:  QFX, MX, EX, SRXExperience with Juniper products a plus, but not a requirement Required Qualifications:Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support experience in a medium to large scale data center networkJuniper and/or other vendor certifications a strong plusAutomation and DevOps knowledge a plusAutomation access methods: XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPCPython tools: RPCs, REST, PyEZ, ncclientAnsible:  Playbooks and Jinja2 templatesAutomation scripts: Commit, Op, Event, or SNMP scripts; Python and SLAX Desired Qualifications: Motivation, a self-starter that can take direction but also identify and engage in areas to improve network design and operationStrong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to prioritize work activity to achieve customer and account team goalsAbility to effectively work under pressure with customer engineers and JTAC to resolve hardware and software issues and implement solutionsAbility to effectively troubleshoot equipment and network problems & to open and track JTAC cases through to problem resolutionAbility to effectively communicate case status updates and deliver root cause analysisSupport informal and formal technology briefings and training sessions Employment Prerequisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.   SOC, a Day & Zimmermann company, is an Equal Opportunity Employer, EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability.  Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations, which may have been provided by job boards.
