The Department of Urology at University or Rochester is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant Professor to join our team. This faculty position will focus on molecular cell biology , contributing to cutting-edge discoveries in urologic diseases.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will lead and collaborate on research projects investigating molecular mechanisms of urologic diseases. This role offers the opportunity to develop independent research while working closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute research projects in molecular cell biology , focusing on urologic diseases.

• Develop and optimize experimental protocols in basic molecular and cellular biology .

• Collaborate with clinical and research faculty to integrate molecular data with clinical outcomes.

• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international conferences.

• Mentor graduate students and research staff.

• Contribute to grant writing and securing external research funding.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related field .

• Strong postdoctoral research experience in molecular and cellular biology.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with a strong publication record.

• Experience in grant writing is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
