This role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Research & Development Engineer to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of the Company's medical devices and therapeutic products. This role applies engineering expertise and independent judgment to develop innovative solutions, support regulatory and quality requirements, and improve product performance throughout the product lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to commercialization.Duties and Responsibilities:Design and develop new products, product enhancements, and manufacturing solutions to meet customer, regulatory, quality, and business requirementsApply engineering analysis and independent judgment to evaluate design alternatives, troubleshoot technical issues, and recommend solutionsDevelop product specifications, design requirements, test methods, and acceptance criteriaConduct product testing, verification, validation, and risk management activities in accordance with design control and quality system requirementsAnalyze test results, manufacturing feedback, customer feedback, and product performance data to identify opportunities for improvementSupport the transfer of new products and design changes into manufacturing through development of documentation, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and training materialsCollaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing processesPrepare and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, bills of materials, validation reports, risk analyses, and engineering change documentationSupport regulatory submissions and compliance activities for new and existing productsProvide technical support for manufacturing, quality investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline required, Master's degree preferred3–7+ years of engineering experience in product development, design engineering, or R&D within a regulated industry (medical device preferred)Experience working under design control frameworks (e.g., FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485) including documentation, verification/validation, and risk managementDemonstrated ability to independently design, analyze, and develop engineered products or components from concept through production releaseExperience with product verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, data analysis, and technical reportingStrong understanding of engineering principles related to mechanical systems, materials, manufacturing processes, or electromechanical systemsBasic textiles, soft goods manufacturing and/or sewing knowledge is a plusCompensation: Caerus Corp provides the following information about compensation for this position:Salary Range: $75,000 – $120,000 per year.Benefits:Health, dental, vision, basic life, and AD&D insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer matchPaid time off (Vacation and Protected paid time) and 6 company designated holidaysTuition Assistance ProgramEmployee Brace ProgramThe salary range is based on several factors which will vary based on position.
