Registered Nurse - Orthopedics

Role Overview

This position practices professional nursing by performing independent and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted standards. Responsibilities include providing health promotion, supportive, and restorative care, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various conditions. The nurse builds strong relationships with members/patients, understanding their needs and responding promptly to deliver personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and emergency protocols, promoting patient safety in medication administration, procedures, and infection prevention.
• Evaluate health status through data collection and analysis to identify problems and develop care plans.
• Prioritize patient needs and triage in person or via telephone, implementing appropriate actions.
• Assess emergency situations and initiate suitable interventions.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
• Execute delegated medical functions, including medication administration and therapies, aligned with medical plans.
• Coordinate care across services, manage patient populations, and support the healthcare team through leadership and role modeling.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring comprehensive and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Graduate from an approved RN program with clinical experience supervised by faculty or preceptor.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid RN license.

Additional Skills & Preferences

• Strong customer service skills and understanding of patient needs.
• Preferred: NPI and Taxonomy code, BLS certification.
