- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical and clinical evaluations
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii or compact eligibility if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care or Med Surg experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Experience in Medical Surgical or acute care hospital settings preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- BSN preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
