Job Description
A 24-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) responsible for neurosurgical, neurotrauma and medical surgical patients with required proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, recognition and treatment of acute patient deterioration, varied postoperative management. Qualified staff trained in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTP), Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols, and Post-Cardiac Arrests. Henry Ford Providence Southfield is an accredited teaching institution; ICU is privileged to work with a multidisciplinary team and incorporate all specialties into our daily care, including Intensivists, Nurse Practitioners, Critical Care Fellows, Residents, Social Workers, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
SCHEDULE: ( 3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer one year of critical care experience, ICU or ER
