GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides expert leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document comprehensive care and teaching for critically ill cardiac and post-operative cardiovascular patients and their families. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the interdisciplinary health care team. Participates in identifying and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals, ensuring optimal cardiovascular outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with acute cardiovascular conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and arrhythmias
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based protocols and care plans
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families during critical illness and recovery phases
• Maintain documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development in cardiovascular nursing

Qualifications:
Qualifications

_ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: _

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

_ CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: _

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Health care provider certification (BLS).
