Real Estate Accounting Manager

Major well-known conglomerate is seeking a Lead accounting and financial reporting professional for a substantial commercial real estate portfolio spanning approximately 460 owned and leased retail locations and five distribution centers .
Reporting to the Real Estate VP of Finance and Accounting, you will oversee the close process, ensure accurate U.S. GAAP reporting, and mentor property and senior accountants.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee property-level and consolidated financial statements, cash flow reporting, and budget comparisons.
• Support lease accounting, CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, fixed assets, and acquisition/disposition accounting.
• Strengthen internal controls, support audits, and improve accounting processes.
• Collaborate with property management, asset management, treasury, and leadership.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in management or supervision.
• Strong commercial real estate accounting experience and U.S. GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills; Yardi or similar system experience preferred.
