Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Reading Specialist/ELD Teacher to join our educational team. This position will support students through English Language Development (ELD) instruction and research-based literacy interventions while providing formal consultation, instructional support, and professional development to promote rigorous, relevant, and effective classroom instruction.
The ideal candidate will analyze and interpret student data, develop and implement targeted interventions through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and collaborate with teachers, specialists, administrators, and support personnel to meet the diverse academic needs of students. The Reading Specialist/ELD Teacher will also support the accurate determination of students' instructional reading levels and appropriate grouping for small-group instruction.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ELD and literacy instruction that addresses the diverse needs and instructional levels of students.
- Collaborate with the Principal, general education teachers, specialists, and support personnel in the design and implementation of RTI/MTSS.
- Analyze and interpret student assessment data to identify instructional needs and develop targeted interventions.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust instructional plans based on ongoing student data and progress.
- Ensure students' instructional reading levels are accurately determined and use assessment data to support appropriate student grouping for small-group instruction.
- Deliver instruction utilizing research-based literacy and ELD programs, methods, and best practices.
- Provide formal consultation, supportive assistance, and professional development to teachers related to literacy instruction, ELD, differentiation, assessment, and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to promote effective instructional practices and differentiated learning experiences.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth.
- Assess and monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback to students and instructional staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and instructional needs.
- Utilize relationship building, educational leadership, conflict resolution, creativity, problem-solving, and sound decision-making in support of students and staff.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and remain current with research-based instructional practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school initiatives, committees, and other activities as needed.
Requirement s
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
- Valid teaching certification for English Language Development and Reading Specialist certification
- Knowledge of student assessment practices, curriculum design, flexible pacing, differentiated instruction, and strategic intervention methodologies
- Ability to apply collaborative, solution-focused approaches to instructional challenges
- Understanding of effective instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs and varying levels of mastery
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
