MRI Technologist
We are seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology, and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a plus. Our candidate should know how to operate the MRI machine efficiently, make patients feel comfortable before and during scanning procedures, and coordinate with physicians to ensure timely results.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedures to alleviate any concerns.
- Insert IVs when necessary for tests (note: IV placement is not performed at this facility).
- Document all procedures while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform patient care tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all MRI safety policies and protocols.
- Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate patients of various ages.
- Properly screen and prepare patients for scanning.
- Identify contraindications for safe scanning.
- Independently determine when a scan must be stopped due to motion and when sedation/anesthesia is needed.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience with Siemens MRI scanners is necessary.
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of pediatric experience is required.
- ARRT certification and NYS Rad Tech License are required (candidates can be considered without these at the time of submission but must obtain them prior to start).

- Commitment to providing age-appropriate care, particularly for patients ranging from neonates to age 18.
