Quality Supervisor - Food ProductionWe are seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead day-to-day quality assurance and control activities in a food production environment.
The role is responsible for ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance and consistent product quality while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Supervisor will manage a team of quality technicians, collaborate with production and supply chain, and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce variation and improve processes.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and mentor quality control staff, schedule work and manage performance to meet quality objectives.Maintain and improve quality management systems, including HACCP, GMPs and relevant food safety standards (e.g., SQF, BRC, IFS).Conduct regular production floor inspections, product and process audits, and environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.Lead root cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify effectiveness of remediation.Oversee sample collection and laboratory testing, review results and escalate non-conformances.Monitor key quality metrics (e.g., yield, defect rates, non-conformances) and prepare reports for management.Coordinate supplier quality activities, including supplier audits, approvals and performance tracking.Develop and deliver quality and food safety training for production and quality teams.Partner with production, maintenance and engineering to drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and variation.Maintain accurate quality documentation, batch records and regulatory records; ensure traceability and recall readiness.Qualifications5+ years of quality experience in a production environmentPractical knowledge of HACCP, GMP, sanitation practices and food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA).Experience with food safety certification standards such as SQF, BRC or IFS preferred.Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt or above is an advantage.Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone), CAPA systems and internal/external audit processes.Strong analytical skills and comfort interpreting laboratory test data and quality metrics.Excellent communication and coaching skills; ability to work cross-functionally and lead change.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with LIMS or ERP systems is a plus.Willingness to work flexible shifts and enter production areas while following PPE and safety protocols.Benefits- Medical Dental and Vision- 401k- Bonus opportunities!- Overtime opportunities!For this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
