Purchasing ManagerIn this position you will be responsible for management of the purchasing function for all product lines, office supplies and equipment. This is a fast-paced working environment with multiple competing priorities. The successful candidate will know how to coordinate and communicate among the various customer groups to achieve all of the desired purchasing priorities.Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)Salary Range: $ 108,900 - 145,000 per year plus bonusPlease note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in Oregon.

Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.We Take Care of Our People:Paid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition I Employee Stock Purchase Plan I Inclusive & Supportive CultureYour Challenge:Lead the PacStar Purchasing team and partner with Commodity Manager as needed to ensure strategic supply chain support of the PacStar business planParticipate in demand and forecast process to determine what material requirements need to be executed in support of the business and customer expectationsIn collaboration with the Commodity Manager, monitor industry trends that impact PacStar products and purchasing requirements to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of required componentsHelp manage supply base for effectiveness and redundancy to ensure they remain strong partners to PacStarWork with the team to develop and implement long term supplier relationships and contracts to benefit CW-PacStar and the supplierDevelop Buyer team to ensure effective performance of supplier managementMonitor and communicate supplier issues that might affect production and customer deliveriesWork to anticipate and resolve any possible supply issues to avoid disruptionsDevelop, manage, and report objectives and metrics to ensure the Procurement/Supply Chain team is continuing to improve in support of the businessWork closely with all operations and business unit departments for information sharing and updates with supply chain plans and statusFocus appropriate efforts on New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure suppliers are in place to meet engineering and operations' requirements during product development and launchYou will be a critical member of the Operations staffOther duties as assignedWhat you bring:Minimum 10+ years' experience in purchasing and scheduling for both commercial off-the-shelf and custom fabricated parts including sheet metal, plastics, cables, and machined parts4+ years of team leadership experienceStrong Ability to quickly learn the company's purchasing and inventory processes and procedures and adhere to the company's standards of documentation and internal controls to accurately and efficiently process and place purchase ordersExperience with Sage software and working with ERP and/or MRP systems; experience with SAP is a plusProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility to work both independently and cooperatively in a cross-functional team; knows when to ask for guidanceLiaise across departments to solve problemsDemonstrated knowledge of supply chain activitiesAbility to handle multiple priorities and deliver on key deadlinesAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawingsAbility to detect, analyze, and help resolve problems and report information to appropriate personnelKnowledge of procurement rules and regulationsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing both internally and externallyAccuracy and attention to detail is a mustMust be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlinesAPICS/CPM certification desiredKnowledge of accounting procedures involving procurement and planning preferredUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing principles desiredWho We Are:Our ValuesPacific Star Communications, a Curtiss-Wright company, designs, manufactures and integrates hardware and software systems that enable rapid deployment of enterprise-class communications anywhere in the world.
