This role can be based full-time in Miami, reporting to the Operations Manager, or full-time in the Cayman Islands, reporting to the Purchasing Manager. Candidates based in Miami must hold a valid legal working authorization in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available for U.S.-based employment.
Candidates based in the Cayman Islands are eligible for work permit assistance.Key ResponsibilitiesSource, negotiate, and procure produce, dairy, and fresh goods from local and regional suppliers to meet quality and cost standardsBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships, evaluating performance and identifying new sourcing opportunitiesMonitor inventory levels and coordinate with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishmentTrack market pricing trends for perishable categories and adjust procurement strategy accordinglyEnsure all purchased goods meet the company's quality specifications and food safety requirementsProcess purchase orders accurately and maintain up-to-date procurement records and documentationCollaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve supply issuesSupport cost control initiatives by identifying efficiencies and alternative sourcing options where appropriateQualificationsProven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role within the foodservice, hospitality, or food distribution industryStrong knowledge of produce, dairy, and fresh goods categories, including quality standards and market pricingExcellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyProficiency in procurement or inventory management systems and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work independently and collaborate effectively across operations, warehouse, and logistics teamsCandidates based in Miami must hold a valid legal working authorization in the United StatesCandidates based in the Cayman Islands are eligible for work permit assistanceSalary: $50,000 to $55,000 USD per annum.
