As a Punch Press Setup Operator, you'll set up and operate metal stamping equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. You'll work with progressive dies, stage tooling, and coil handling equipment, perform first and last piece inspections, troubleshoot tooling issues, and support production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Education Requirements:High school diploma or GED preferred.Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.Experience Requirements:2+ years of punch press setup experience with progressive and/or stage toolingExperience operating punch presses ranging from 45 to 400 tonsExperience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gaugesBlueprint reading, troubleshooting, and quality inspection experience preferredJob Duties:Set up and operate punch presses and tooling systemsInstall and adjust safety devices and machine safeguardsTroubleshoot progressive dies, stage tooling, and temporary toolingPerform first-piece, in-process, and final inspectionsUse calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring toolsComplete production documentation accuratelyPerform basic preventive maintenance and machine upkeepTrain production operators on proper procedures and safety practicesPreferred Qualifications:Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Punch Press Setup Operator.Physical Capabilities:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.Frequently lift up to 25 lbs.
