IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Medical Director
Summary
The Psychiatrist, under auspices of or in conjunction with the Medical Director, sets the standards for facility medical/psychiatric management.
Education Requirement
MD degree and completed a residency in psychiatry
Experience Requirement
- Current license to practice in state of Tennessee without sanctions. Documented evidence of training or knowledge of psychiatric management. Working with Dually Diagnosed a plus. Current CEU
requirements in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment and development of appropriate plan of care
- Involve client, family and staff in execution of Plan of care
- Intervene as warranted in response to DISCUS assessment
- Incorporate interdisciplinary assessments into Plan of care such as BDP, IEP and other medical disciplines
- Thorough knowledge of psychotropic management and interventions
- Documentation in accordance with medical, regulatory and funding guidelines
- Provide mandated oversight to Advance Practice Nurses
- Provide Consultation as warranted to other clinical staff
- Assist in development of clinical policies and procedures
- Other duties as maybe assigned.

Experience working with interdisciplinary team.
Experience working with Advance Practice Nurses.
Supervision Provided by this Job
As delegated by his/her immediate supervisor.
